In July 2024, the Board endorsed a new name, Top End Aboriginal Health Research Alliance (TEAHRA), and embedded Aboriginal leadership into our strategy [hyperlink] and governance structure [hyperlink]. Our collaboration also expanded to include three additional Top End Aboriginal community-controlled organisations. TEAHRA has a strong history of prioritising translational health research activities to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people. Our 2024 name change and new strategy strengthen this focus on Aboriginal health, by ensuring that all our activities centre the leadership and research and health expertise of Aboriginal people, communities, and community-controlled organisations.

We have been working to translate health research into improved health and wellbeing in the Top End since 2013. Since being established by our founding partners, we have been unified by a common purpose to be a leader in health care, research translation, translational research and education in Northern Australia and across the region.
